Program Objectives
The BEd Honours in Special Needs Education is designed to prepare teachers comprehensively in areas such as:
■ Special needs education techniques
■ Inclusive education strategies
■ Pedagogical skills for diverse learning environments
BEd (Hons) in Special Needs Education (2025/26): Admission Requirements
Prospective applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

■ Completion of any Diploma (Levels 3 & 4) from the Open University of Sri Lanka.
■ Holding a National Diploma in Teaching (Special Education) from a National College of Education, which allows direct admission to Level 5, followed by Level 6 of the BEd (Hons) program (with exemptions for Levels 3 & 4).

■ Application Fee: Rs. 500/-
■ Issuance of Applications: March 10, 2025
■ Closing Date for Applications: April 30, 2025
■ Medium of Instruction: Sinhala, Tamil, or English
■ Program Duration: 4 Years
